Carrier reviews
Maintenance › DVIR lists reports with defects first. Classify each defect, open a service log for repairs, and certify the repair so the next driver sees it signed off (49 CFR 396.13).

Templates
Maintenance › Templates. Build a checklist per equipment type (tractor, reefer, flatbed). System templates are shared starting points; copy one and edit.
A written DVIR is required when a defect that affects safety is found; a no-defect report is not required for property-carrying vehicles. Reports are retained for the regulatory period automatically.
