HOS monitoring: violations, log edits, unassigned driving and diagnostics

Your ELD is the system of record for hours; Tacit OS mirrors it so violations, log edits, unassigned driving and ELD malfunctions are visible beside dispatch and kept for the audit.

Included on every plan

Included on every plan, the free plan too. Needs a connected ELD; the driver Smart Logbook is a backup for trucks that do not require an ELD.

  • Driver HOS: per-day logs per driver, with the ELD winning over manual entries for any day it has data.
  • HOS Violations: 11-hour, 14-hour, 30-minute break and cycle violations by driver, with the day to open.
  • Log Edits and Unassigned HOS: edits awaiting driver confirmation and unassigned driving to claim or annotate. Review weekly.
  • Diagnostics & Malfunctions: open ELD malfunction and data-diagnostic events; a malfunction starts the 8-day paper-log clock.
  • HOS Audit Transfer and Duty Status Summary produce the records an officer or auditor asks for.

Federal rules require a back-up copy of ELD records for six months on a separate device (49 CFR 395.22). Tacit OS storage is that second copy, and it stays with you if you change ELD vendors.
