Roadside inspection prep (CVSA Levels I to III)

What an officer checks at each inspection level, what the driver must have in the cab, and how to log the inspection report afterwards.

Included on every plan

Included on every plan, the free plan too.

  • Level I: full driver and vehicle. Level II: walk-around. Level III: driver credentials and hours only.
  • In the cab: CDL, medical certificate, ELD information packet (data-transfer sheet, malfunction sheet, 8 days of blank grids), previous 7 days of logs, annual inspection proof, last DVIR with a defect, fire extinguisher, spare fuses, three reflective triangles.
  • After the stop: the driver gives the report to the carrier within 24 hours; log it under Inspection Prep so violations feed the safety score and the DataQ queue.

The Dispatcher Training Program's checklist pack includes a printable Required-in-the-Truck list with the rule each item comes from.
