Why Direct Freight

Why Cut Out the Broker?

Brokers exist because direct data didn't. Tacit OS changes that.

Save 15–30% Per Load

Brokers add 15–30% margin on every load for phone calls and emails that add zero value to moving your freight. Direct booking means you keep that margin — or pass the savings to your customers.

Verified Carrier Data

Every carrier on Tacit OS Shippers Portal carries a real DOT Safety Score and Tacit Carrier Score (TCS) — calculated from actual operational data in Tacit OS, not self-reported numbers or anonymous reviews.

Book in Minutes

Search available carriers by lane, freight type, and minimum score threshold. See real availability, review carrier profiles, and book direct — no phone tag, no broker callbacks, no waiting.

Tacit Carrier Score

What is the Tacit Carrier Score (TCS)?

TCS is Tacit OS's proprietary carrier rating system — calculated from real operational data, not reviews or self-reported metrics.

On-Time Delivery Rate

Percentage of loads delivered within the agreed pickup and delivery windows, calculated from actual Tacit OS dispatch timestamps — not driver self-reporting.

HOS & ELD Compliance

Hours-of-service violations, log edit frequency, and duty cycle patterns pulled directly from integrated ELD data — shows how well a carrier actually operates.

Cargo Claim History

Claim frequency and severity from Tacit OS freight records. Carriers with low claim rates have a proven track record of protecting your cargo.

Fleet Safety Record

DVIR completion rate, preventive maintenance compliance, and CSA score integration — a full picture of how a carrier maintains their equipment and prioritizes safety.

TCS Score Range
● Poor (0–2.0)● Fair (2.0–3.5)● Excellent (3.5–5.0)
Sample Carrier: 4.2
0.01.02.03.04.05.0

TCS scores update continuously as carriers operate on Tacit OS — the more a carrier uses the platform, the more accurate and comprehensive their score becomes.
