FMCSA usually gives you about five days

You got a letter from FMCSA.We build the package.

Your Driver List, Equipment List and Accident Register — generated from your own records, in the exact Excel format the Safety Measurement System reads. Plus a scan against the 16 violations that fail a safety audit on their own.

The audit moved online — and the forms are now read by a computer

FMCSA no longer sends an investigator to your yard for most new entrant audits. You get an Initial Information Request, and you upload the documents through the SMS Carrier Dashboard by a hard deadline.

The important part is easy to miss. Three of those documents are Excel workbooks, and FMCSA's own instructions say “the SMS will extract the information for your compliance investigation.” They are parsed by machine, then reconciled against what FMCSA already knows about you from registration and roadside inspections.

So a driver who shows up on a roadside inspection but not on your Driver List does not slip by. Neither does a VIN. That mismatch is how a routine document review turns into a real investigation.

Sixteen violations end the audit on their own

Under 49 CFR 385.321, a single one of these fails you no matter how good the rest of your paperwork is. Being 95% ready is not being ready.

§ 391.11(b)(4)

One driver's DOT medical certificate lapsed last month.

§ 382.115(a)

No drug and alcohol testing program in place before the first dispatch.

§ 396.17(a)

A truck without a periodic inspection in the last 12 months.

§ 387.7(a)

Liability coverage that lapsed for a week between policies.

We scan your records against all sixteen

And where we cannot prove something from your data — your Clearinghouse queries, for instance — we say so plainly rather than telling you that you are clear. A false all-clear is the one mistake that actually costs a carrier its authority.

Paying someone to type it once is the expensive way

Every consultant preparing this package is doing the same thing: keying your drivers and trucks into FMCSA's spreadsheets by hand. You pay for that labour, you get a folder of files, and next year you pay for it again.

Hire it out, no account

  • Someone types your roster in by hand
  • You get spreadsheets and an invoice
  • Your data lives in their files, not yours
  • Next audit, you start from zero again

Put your fleet in Tacit OS

  • The forms build themselves from your data, in seconds
  • Regenerate free, as many times as you need
  • Your roster is checked against FMCSA's own records
  • You also get dispatch, documents and tracking
  • Next audit is already done before it arrives

The software does the typing either way. The only question is whether you keep what it built.

Run your own numbers

No sales call. The price is the price.

What would this cost you?

Count every power unit and every driver who ran in the last 365 days — including anyone who has since left. That is what FMCSA asks for.

Trucks and tractors. Not trailers.

Last 365 days, terminated included.

$149.99/mo × 3 month minimum

  • All three FMCSA workbooks generated from your data — included, unlimited
  • Automatic-failure scan against all 16 violations in 49 CFR 385.321
  • The rest of the platform — dispatch, documents, tracking
  • Your data stays. Next year's audit is already built.

Prices exclude the rush surcharge for turnarounds under 72 hours. Investigator follow-up after you submit — if FMCSA comes back asking for logs or supporting documents — is billed separately by the hour, because that scope is set by them, not us.

Everything else, plainly

Generating your documents

Included with any paid plan

Once your fleet is in Tacit OS this costs us nothing to run, so we do not charge for it. Regenerate as often as you like — every version reflects your roster as it stands today.

Expert review before you certify

$399 – $699

A flat fee by fleet size, never an hourly meter. We read the whole package, reconcile it against FMCSA's records and tell you what to fix — before you hit Certify and Submit, after which nothing can be changed without your investigator's help.

Audit Shield — stay ready year-round

$99/mo

Continuous monitoring against the sixteen automatic failures, with a warning before a medical card or annual inspection lapses instead of after. Includes one reviewed audit package a year.

If FMCSA comes back for more

$125/hr

Investigators can request logs, fuel receipts or bills of lading after you submit. That scope is set by them, so it is the one thing we bill by the hour — in 15-minute increments, with your approval first. Under 72 hours to your deadline, a rush surcharge applies.

We prepare and review your documents. You certify and submit them — FMCSA requires that the carrier attest to their own records, and we will never do it on your behalf.

The deadline is real. The setup takes minutes.

Add your trucks and drivers, and your FMCSA package is ready to download. Start free — you only pay when you need the documents.
